June 11: Voyageur Landing Canoe and Kayak Race, Voyageur Landing Forest Preserve, 50 Airport Rd, Elgin, IL:  Registration opens 8:30, race starts 10:00, $20 fee.  Downstream 0.5 miles
to a counterclockwise turn round first island past the I90 bridge, then upstream 4 miles to turn any Carpentersville bridge abutment, then back to a buoy turn finish at Voyageur Landing. Tshirts and hotdogs after the race.  Email Kevin Bradley KAAB610@aol.com

June 25: South Bend Paddlefest, South Bend, IN: Paddlefest 2017 includes the choice of a 16 mile canoe or kayak race, an 8 mile half marathon, a 2 mile fun race, or a duathlon (3.1 mile trail run, 2 mile paddle) on the St Joseph River near South Bend, IN. July 1: Ix Ex 2017: Ixonia's Excellent Rock River Race, Ixonia, WI. Winding, fun river: good flow, bald eagles, herons, no sharks, no alligators. Loop course: 10.25 miles for "expert" classes, 4 miles for "rookie" or "rec" racers in non-racing-design craft. Canoe, kayak, SUP. Tandem AM, solo PM. Single race fee covers one or both races. Winners' prizes: home brewed beer. Shirts for online sign-ups by July 15. Pot luck lunch between races.

July 8/9: The 52nd Wisconsin River Race: Saturday Night Special, Big 3 Challenge, Lions Club Challenge, from Spring Green, Lone Rock, & Gotham, to Muscoda, WI. Saturday Night Special is a bonus solo race (C, K, SUP), free to Sunday racers; the Big 3, a multi-state points race: come win points for your state, and Lions Club Challenge a race for service organizations.


August 6: The Pretzel City Paddle, McConnell to Freeport, IL.  The first 22 mile Pretzel City Paddle on the Pecatonica River.  $20 per paddler includes lunch at the end of the race.  Start at McConnell Bobtown Landing and end downtown Freeport at Tutty’s Crossing.  Registration begins at 8 A.M. at McConnell Bobtown Landing.  Race start 10:00 A.M.  Cars will be shuttled to Tutty’s Crossing either before or after the race.  Online registration will be available at www.pecriver.org.

August 19: Race the Fox: A Canoe, Kayak, SUP Stand Up Paddleboard, Surf Ski, Outrigger Canoe Race. Paddle 17 or 8.5 miles on the Wisconsin Fox River from Berlin/Eureka to a finish line in Omro,WI.
